We're still chugging along out here in Connecticut. Jonah is really keeping us on our toes. Now that he can crawl and pull himself up to stand, he is everywhere into everything! If he hears me talking in another room, he'll start investigating and he won't stop until he finds me. As soon as I'm in sight, he starts laughing while he's crawling because he's just so pleased with himself that he found me. It's pretty irresistable.

Jonah slept in his pack and play in the office last night. The co-sleeping thing was becoming less and less manageable as my baby got bigger and more wild. He is very stubborn and can poop/puke out of pure rage so we had some major clean-ups last night but I think once he was finally down everyone slept better. He only got up once to eat - either he slept better on his own or he was exhausted from his indignation at being put in his own room. We'll see how tonight goes. He's such a funny little guy and changing all the time.

In other news, I turn 25 today. I totally forgot until a friend wished me happy birthday after class. I had to think for a minute and try to remember the date. It turns out she's right! Today is my birthday. We might go out to eat to celebrate, but so far we've been unsuccessful in finding someone to watch Jonah and the thought of going out with a baby... well, that's not too relaxing, is it?

Jonah's Crawling!

Isn't he amazing?! He's everywhere now.

Jonah seems to be doing a little better or maybe we're just used to the wheezing now, I'm not sure. Our friends have been amazing and for the last four nights different people have come over to help out with the baby. Kevin and I are sick, too, so the help is wonderful. Jonah is as happy as ever, with a big smile on his face, despite his lingering cough and wheeze. RSV lasts a couple of weeks usually and we're almost one week in so hopefully we're halfway through.

I called in sick to clinical today, so the three of us are in the living room right now. A year ago, if I were sick, I'd be laid up on the couch watching TV. Today, I'm laid up on the couch watching my little boy play and laugh and jabber. It's less peaceful like this and sure it's giving me a headache, but I really wouldn't have it any other way.

Jonah's been very sick the last few days with RSV. We've been in the doctors office every day since Thursday morning and spent a few hours Thursday evening in the hospital. He's been borderline as far as hospital admission, so we get to keep him here and do his breathing treatments every four hours. It's nice to stay home but at the same time it's so stressful to constantly worry if he's getting enough oxygen. The pediatrician this morning said he should turn a corner and feel better soon. I hope so because nobody here is going to breathe easy until Jonah does.

Jonah is seven months old today! He got himself a nice fat lip for his birthday by crashing into the kitchen counter while lunging for the dustpan. Mobility has it's hazards. Right now he is praciticing his whining, at which he excels. He's sitting in my lap and is enraged that I'm not letting him tear more keys off my keyboard (he scratched the 'g' key off last week). We need to go find a new game that does not involve my laptop.

Jonah is up and into everything these days. He's not crawling, but he's scooting, rolling and pulling to get where he wants to be. He pulls himself up so he can get into trash cans, laundry baskets and his favorite - the TV cabinet. He's a very busy little guy. He's also very happy and continues to adore attention, especially from new people. He loves to go on errands and will charm everyone at the grocery store. One woman told me he was the best thing that's happened to her all day.

Jonah's major downfall is that he still hates to sleep. He has never been a good napper, but lately has been taking it to extremes, refusing to nap more than half an hour in a whole day. He also is going through a phase where he won't sleep more than 20 minutes at a time in his crib - lovely! So he's spending his nights mostly with us. It's become such a regular event that we put our mattress on the floor to prevent any bed falling mishaps. While I don't always enjoy having a little (kicking) person in my bed, I kind of savor this time when he wants to be snuggled up next to me. He's growing so fast and already is much too busy to cuddle when he is awake. I feel like I'm going to blink and I'll be the terribly embarrassing mother of a teenage boy.

Jonah had his six month appointment today (though he's almost seven months). He's 22lb and 28inches long (90th percentile). The doctor declared him to be in excellent health. Thank goodness for vaccines, which I secretly love because Jonah always sleeps away the afternoon afterwards, like he's doing right now. So every few months, I get a little peace and quiet!
