We have had nothing but ice and snow this month. It's been terribly cold but I'm glad for it because what may be my last winter is such a pretty one. All the trees are coated in white and everything gets wiped clean every few days. I won't miss scraping ice off my car but I will miss playing in the snow.

Jonah is suddenly everywhere, into everything. I've never really seen him move, but I blink and he's across the room knocking over plants or pulling magazines off the coffee table. We think he scoots along on his bottom. He's a very active little boy - too busy to sleep! But that's a whole other issue (one that may send me to the nuthouse!).

Jonah Pre-Crawling

He was too distracted by the camera to do his full body flailing, but you get the idea. Sorry the camera shakes so much, but I laugh every single time he does it.

I'm back to school and clinical. I'm loving my clinical at the doctor's office. It's the same site I had last semester so I feel comfortable and competent there. The other site and my new classes are alright. I just have to wade through four months and then I'll be done! I know how fast it's going to go by so I'm trying to take advantage of the time I have left, both with my friends and the support system from school. I feel like I'm going to wake up one morning and everything will have changed: new state, new job, new life. It's scary and sad and very exciting.

By the way, I re-did the photo album link from a few days ago.
Here are our pictures from December: SIX MONTHS

Jonah's still smiling, even though he's so sick. Isn't he sweet (and mucusy)? He seems to be feeling a little better today, except for that right eye which seems to be getting worse. But we have been fever free for almost 24 hours. Progress!

This link should take you to a photo album of Jonah which includes our time in Missouri:
Six month pictures
Jonah was up most of the night coughing and crying. He started the morning off with a bang by way of an episode of explosive diarrhea. From his butt all the way to his neck (too graphic? sorry, this mom stuff is turning out to be pretty disgusting). Now we're bathed and clean (except for me - I still have baby snot all over me but let's face it - that's a battle I'm destined to lose). Would write more but the baby's crying and since Kevin's at work that means I'm the only one on call today.

The second trip to the doctor in two days revealed that Jonah has parainfluenza (which I think is just a fancy word for cold?), bronchiolitis, bilateral conjunctivitis, and double ear infections. When this kid gets sick, he does it up big.

My little Jonah is so sick. There is retching, vomiting, dry heaves, congestion, fever, coughing and then that awful nasty little tooth. We're off to the doctor.

Jonah is getting his first tooth and his first cold. The trip home from Missouri was a little rough but not as bad as it might have been. We made it home safe and that's what matters. We had a really wonderful trip but we're all pretty tired.

Jonah Laughs at Dad

Kevin tried to teach Jonah to crawl by demonstration, which Jonah thought was more hilarious than educational.

Jonah has been amazing on this trip to Missouri. He's all smiles and giggles and good sleeping. He's fascinated by all the new people and new places. He's been the center of attention everywhere we go and he is eating it up. The only time he has been fussy is when we hung out with his cousins and he had to share Grandma and Papa. The rest of the time he's been absolutely delightful. If this is what traveling with a baby is like, I think we should travel forever.
