Picture Update
Sunday, November 23, 2008
Jonah's been doing very well with his sleeping. He just had one rough night with the Ferber method and now he goes down with only 2-3 minutes of protest. The other new thing Jonah's doing is sitting up! By himself! As soon as we get the internet fixed on my laptop, I will post pictures of our little genius baby.

I wish parenting were black and white. I wish there were clear cut answers about the right course of action. Wouldn't it be better if there was a book of directions and if you followed them, you knew you were doing right by your kid?
We're trying the Ferber method per our pediatrician's recommendation. It is terrible. Four more minutes until I can go in and reassure both Jonah and myself that I do still love him. If this doesn't help him sleep better I think we're all going to lose our minds over here.
UPDATE: He's asleep. Please cross your fingers/toes/arms/eyes he stays that way!

Better Late Than Never
Friday, November 07, 2008
By some miracle, Jonah is still sleeping, so I have a few mintues to myself. Jonah has become a very active little guy - way too active to take naps! We get lucky every few days and he'll take a nice long nap, but most days he wants to play, and then eat and then play some more. He remains a very happy baby. He thinks most things are hilarious. I didn't know babies laughed so much! Maybe it's just our oh-so-perfect baby.
Jonah turns four months old today! He's in that stage right now where he grabs everything and shoves it straight into his mouth. He must be building up his immune system. He still hasn't figured out how to roll all the way over, so we have a bit more time before we have to obsessively babyproof the house.
Everything else remains very much the same. Kevin works weekends, alternating day shifts and night shifts (YUCK) and I have five more weeks left in the semester. I probably always say it but I just can't believe how fast time flies with a little one around. Didn't we just have him yesterday? When did he get so huge? I remember when he was just a little eating/pooping lump. Now he smiles when I come into the room and puts his hand in my mouth so I'll pretend to eat it (he thinks this is hilarious). Kevin says he smiles when he hears my voice on the phone. Isn't that the sweetest thing? I'm just nuts about this kid.
